Children at Covenant
Covenant has adopted the Montessori-based, Godly Play curriculum for children ages 2 through 12, and it is offered on Sunday mornings from 11 - 11:45.
Participation in Godly Play helps children explore their faith through story, expand their religious language, and enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play.
Through this powerful language, through our wondering, through the community of players gathered together, we hear the deepest invitation of all: an invitation to come play with God.
There are several special programs and activities for children throughout the year:
Vacation Bible School
One a week in July children come everyday to learn stories from the Bible, make crafts, play games, eat snacks, and sing.
Christmas Pageant
Every Christmas children practice for several weeks and participate in a Christmas pagent to the church.
Hosana Parade
On Palm Sunday we celebrate Jesus' arrival to Jerusalem. A donkey visits the church and children ride on it between services.
Holy Week Happening
The children learn about Holy Week and Easter through crafts, stories, and snacks.
Easter Egg Hunt
The youth hold an Easter egg hunt at the church for the children and provide snacks, crafts, and games.
Special Mission Projects
The children collect hats and mittens, school bags full of supplies, and books for children in our community in need.
