We don't concern ourselves with categories like "traditional" and "contemporary," but are far more concerned with meaningful. That being said, the "average" service looks very different each week and offers everything from traditional to contemporary and back again. We take seriously the idea that worship is "The Work of the People" (coming from the Greek definition of "Litourgia"), and so we prefer a service that involves the whole community, young and old, the musically inclined and those who prefer to listen, those interested in missional outreach and those interested in quiet contemplation; everyone has something to contribute and receive from our worship life together.
Choir in Worship
Covenant offers a stimulating and diverse musical program which provides a wide variety of music for worship and church celebrations.
Choirs are an important component of worship at Covenant.
Adult Choir - Practice is on Thursday nights at 7:30 PM. except during the summer.
Youth Choir - for all mid, senior high, and college students. Practices are held on Sundays at 10:45 AM except during the summer.
Children's Chapel
Each week, after the "Moment's with the Children," children grades Kindergarten-5th are offered a more interactive worship experience focusing on the days scripture and learning how to participate in different elements of worship. The Children then return to the worshipping community during the hymn following the sermon. Nursery care is available for Pre-Kindergarten children.
Reflective Service
Thursdays at 6:30 in the Fireside Area
The Reflective Service is neither a traditional worship service nor a contemplative one. It is both a time for quiet reflection and contains elements found in a traditional worship service in a peaceful informal setting. It is for those who wish to take time out during the week to ponder- a little more deeply- those things that busy schedules leave little room to explore.
